What Do I Sell On eBay?

By Joel Holmes

The number 1 question I always hear when someone is starting selling on eBay is "what do I sell on eBay?" What is the best answer to that question? I'll tell you in a little bit. But before I can properly answer that question, let me explain why you can get stuck here. (Don't worry, I got stuck here too.)

I believe it's because eBay is such a product-focused business. You buy product at a discount, you sell product at a profit. Buy low, sell high. Simple model, right? You're probably saying, "yeah, I know that," but hear me out.

Someone who gets stuck here is the same type of person who might get stuck figuring out which stock to buy in the stock market. It's the same model, right? Buy a stock low, sell it high. Buy inventory low, sell it for more on eBay.

Let's think about what makes a really successful stock trader. Successful stock traders know which stocks are going to go up. They look at what the market is doing right now. They'll look at the current stock price and then make the decision.

Successful traders will tell you it's not so much one particular stock that they look for, but they look for certain qualities through many stocks. They train themselves to look for these qualities, and then filter through the many options to find the winners. You need to do the same thing when looking for eBay products. Learn the criteria, train yourself to be able to recognize it.

What's the key ingredient to find products? By far, it's having the mindset. You need the training to see the opportunities. Once you can recognize opportunities, you'll be prepared for them when they arrive. There are literally countless products all around you that you can sell. You just can't see them yet. The main thing you need to do is to get yourself in that "seller's mindset" so you can.

Maybe you still don't know what to sell on eBay yet.

If you're absolutely brand new to eBay, you need to get started before you worry about what you sell. My recommendation? Look close to home. Is there an area of your house that is cluttered? Check your attic, closets, or basement. Instead of having a yard sale, see if you can sell it on eBay. You'll start to build your feedback ratings. You'll gain valuable experience as an eBay entrepreneur. Then, cultivate that "seller's mindset. - 22871
