Will your online business provide services to a specific area or demographic?
Will you always be able to run this business out of your home, or maybe one day expand to real office space?
What additional help will you need to help you once the business gets up and running? Employees? A Partner to help out with day to day operations?
These are all good things to keep in mind when you are considering starting an internet based home business. I'm not trying to discourage anyone, in fact I have an example of a business that a friend of mine started that might open your eyes to a new perspective.
SHAWN'S BUSINESS IDEA - A RIDE FOR YOU
One of the most common misconceptions about starting an internet based home business is that you have to sell a product, or have a drop ship company, or spend countless hours stuffing envelopes or clicking on buttons for money (scam alert). My friend Shawn saw a need within his group of friends and family, and he decided to start an internet business around that need. He noticed that this group of people was always going out to sporting events and to concerts, but did not want to drive, or pay the high prices for a limousine service. His internet business revolves around people needing rides to and from events. He charges half the price of the limousine services and he offers to pick up his clients and drives them to the events in their own cars. When the event is over he picks them up at the venue, and then drives them home. No leaving your car in a parking lot somewhere or taking a smelly cab ride home. This entire business is run on the internet, out of his house. No need for an office. He still takes his business very seriously and gets up and is at work by 9:00 a.m., even if it is in his slippers! - 22871
