How to Easily Find Products to Sell on eBay

By Jesse Holmes

Looking to sell on eBay? Does the $60 billion dollar marketplace catch your eye and make you want to slice out a piece for yourself? I don't blame you, but where are you going to find product to sell?

New eBay sellers often ask that question. Having products to sell is essential to having a business. If you aren't making sales you can't have a business right?

Many people get stuck here, but it doesn't have to be hard.

Once you figure out what you want to sell on eBay, you need to understand that are many manufacturers looking to sell those products. Let's call it WidgetX.

Perhaps you can find WidgetX in online stores, retail stores, or catalogs. No matter where you can buy it today, you don't want to start at the retail end of the supply chain. The higher up you are on the supply chain, the better prices you are going to get. If the top of the supply chain is the manufacturer, that is where the best prices are going to be.

Getting a hold of the manufacturer and finding their authorized wholesalers is what you need to do. Aside from a direct phone call, the best way to get a hold of the manufacturer is to go to a trade show. Trade shows are the best place for retailers and manufacturers to get together, and are perfect for you to make some deals for your eBay business.

Go online and find out which trade shows are relative to your industry. Selling electronics? Head over to the Consumer Electronics Show. Selling garden supplies? Look online for a gardening trade show in your area.

If you don't have the proper papers you might have a hard time getting into a trade show. You need to make sure your eBay business is registered and that have the proper forms filled out with your government. You need to be able to show at the door that you are a real business, and if you can't they might turn you away.

Once you're inside though, you have a gold mine of suppliers. New product ideas will be all around you. Talk to suppliers, get business cards and contact information. Make some deals for selling products and you'll have an endless supply of products to sell on eBay. - 22871
